About the journal
The journal Revista Investigaciones y Aplicaciones Nucleares is a serial scientific publication of the Servicio Geológico Colombiano and is a new version of the Revista Nucleares, of the former Institute of Nuclear Affairs, thirty years after its first issue appeared in 1986.
Objective and scope
To disseminate scientific knowledge related to the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology and its application in the geosciences, environment, industry, biomedical sciences, forensic sciences and other related knowledge fields.
The journal Revista Investigaciones y Aplicaciones Nucleares (Journal of Nuclear Research and Applications) publishes unpublished scientific articles, in Spanish or English, on scientific and technological research, reflection papers, reviews, short articles or case reports on the peaceful uses of nuclear science and technologies, as well as research on nuclear reactors, the application of ionizing radiation, the metrology of ionizing radiation, neutron activation analysis, irradiation of materials, special topics in geochronology and isotopy, nuclear safety, radiation protection and modeling, simulation and prospecting.
Frequency and publication date
Annual publication with online publishing in December of each year.
Publication costs
The contents of the journal are freely available without charge to readers and can be reused after download with proper bibliographic reference.
The journal does not charge authors any fees for publishing. It is completely funded by the Colombian Geological Survey.

Archive and preservation
The Revista Investigaciones y Aplicaciones y Nucleares uses the LOCKSS system to create a storage system that allows the creation of permanent archives for conservation and restoration purposes.
