INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS
Authorship
Authorship should be attributed to those who have actively and substantially contributed to the intellectual content of the article and to its data analysis or interpretation; therefore, the authors are responsible for the content of the submitted article. The list and order of authors must be reviewed before submission, since after submitting the article author changes are not accepted.
Assignment of patrimonial copyright to the Servicio Geológico Colombiano
The authors of an article approved for publication transfer the patrimonial copyright to the Servicio Geológico Colombiano for its subsequent dissemination, reproduction and distribution in the printed and digital media available to the Servicio Geológico Colombiano, as well as for its inclusion in national or international databases and indexes.
Author requirements

Understand the editorial policy of the journal Revista Investigaciones y Aplicaciones Nucleares and the derived processes, and be in agreement with them.

Include all the people who contributed to the preparation of the manuscript as authors.

Abide by all ethical guidelines for authors.

In the event that the reviewers of the article/publication suggest the need to make changes or adjustments before their approval, the authors agree to make such adjustments in the time required by the journal Revista Investigaciones y Aplicaciones Nucleares.
The obligations of the authors are included in the letter of authorship that can be find HERE or in the corresponding steps when submitting an article. Sending the completed letter of authorship is an essential requirement for the submission of an article.
- Presentation criteria
All articles submitted for consideration must meet the following presentation criteria:
- Only original and unpublished articles are accepted. The content of the articles must not have been published, totally or partially, in another journal or publication.
- They must be sent by in Microsoft Word format by this web page, in the "Submit articles" tab of the Instructions to authors.
- The title, provided in Spanish and English, should be brief and reflect the essence of the research.
- The information of the authors, which includes the most recent academic title, the complete institutional affiliation information of each author and the email of the corresponding author, must be included.
- The abstract and the keywords must be included in Spanish and English. The images must be attached as individual graphic files in .jpeg or .tiff format, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
- If acknowledgments, acknowledgments to entities, publication permits, etc., are required, they should be included at the end of the text and before the bibliographic references.
- The text must comply the bibliographic and style requirements indicated in the editorial standards.
- Editorial standards
- Tables
The tables must be presented in an editable format, not as images, and accompanied by an explicit legend and the source. All tables must be referenced in the text and must be essential to explaining or expanding part of the argument of the article.
- Figures
The figures, such as diagrams, photographs or maps, must be provided in graphic files with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Each figure must be cited in the text and be accompanied by an explanatory legend that includes the source.
Images from sources other than the authors of the article must have the authorization of the author of the original image or be free of copyright conflicts or have a Creative Commons license (see the following link: https://co.creativecommons.org/). Maps, aerial photographs and satellite imagery should include a scale.
- Units, abbreviations and symbols
The International System of Units (m, kg, s, K) will be used. Only use generally accepted terms. Define abbreviations and acronyms the first time they are used in the text, even if they have been defined in the abstract. Do not use abbreviations in the title unless necessary.
- Citations
The use of references in the text must follow these rules according to the IEEE.
References must be numbered in the order in which they appear in the document.
- Once a number is assigned to a given reference, the same number must be used on all subsequent occasions when that document is cited in the text.
