Abstract
This report presents a regional study of the coal basins located north of the Sabana de Bogotá to better understand the reserves and the different coal ranges.
In addition, a stratigraphic correlation of the coal seams in each of the coal basins is made, thus avoiding the great confusion that existed due to the diversity of names of each seam in the different localities where they are exploited. Finally, a series of coal analyses were also made, belonging to a systematic sampling as advised by modern techniques.
In addition to the above, we also managed to map the boundaries of the basins and the locations of each exploitation within them, presenting at the end a work on each coal mine where the reader can get an idea of its current state of development.
