Abstract

The relationships between stratigraphic position, granulometry, deposit media, and gold values lead to the conclusion of the sedimentary origin of the gold in the Tunuí Group layers of the Serranía de Naquén.

The gold is tied to fluvially fluvial, westward-prograding ruditic, and quartz sandstone facies in response to regional differential tectonic movements. There are six to seven gold-bearing rhoditic levels and four gold-bearing sandy levels; recognition of gold grades in fresh rock will define the economic value of these layers.
