Abstract
This article contains summaries of the work carried out in March 1953 1) study for supplying the town of Puerto Bogota with groundwater using cisterns built on the eastern side of the Magdalena River; 2) studies for drilling wells in different parts of Cundinamarca, which could be optimal for domestic use of the surrounding farms; 3) reports in preparation on the deposits of copper, zinc, and lead in the province of Guavio, Cundinamarca that can be of national use; and 4) reports on the use of earthy materials between Cartago and Zarzal in the Valle.
The article presents monthly reports on 1) paleontology with the classification of the family Pulchellus from the catalog of ammonites of Colombia; 2) photogeology with the drawing of the geological plates of Cundinamarca and two topographic plates; 3) petrography report with the study of thin sections of Coyaima and Natagaima in Tolima; 4) paleobotany report with palynological analysis of the Guaduas Formation; 5) National Geological Museum report elaborating on a fossil collection and the catalog of new samples.
Finally, the article presents the regional services provided by the entity, such as coal studies, exploration work for sulfur deposits, an inventory visits to the Ecodera Yesera, and the analysis of mineral samples taken at La Equis, on the Quibdó-Bolívar highway
