Abstract

The present work deals with the petrography and genesis of the crystalline rocks of the Guajira Peninsula.

Particular attention is paid to the description and genesis of the granitized rocks (migmatites) and their relations with the ectinites and intrusive masses of the region.

Finally, the succession of orogenetic cycles that gave the region its present configuration is discussed.
