Abstract
The area covered by this report is located on the eastern edge of the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia. It is characterized by steep to gently undulating topography in the Andean region and flat in the Eastern Plains.
The sedimentary rocks of the Farallones and Borde Llanero basins are described and small dykes and lamprophyre apophyses intruding rocks of the Lutitas de Macanal Formation. The three tectonic areas of the Eastern Cordillera in this work, their geological-historical events, and their main mineral resources are also described.
