Abstract
This report exposes the lateritic origin of some iron ores located in Cerros Chancos, municipality of Dagua, department of Valle; establishes the basic character of the matrix rock, its structure, and its stratigraphic relations; and, after some considerations of the geological evolution of the region, its climate, and its topography. The report concludes that to evaluate the economic potential of the deposit it is necessary to make several appliques or drillings that allow judging with precision the thickness and the extension of the mineralized zone.
