Abstract

The current aqueduct of El Centro takes its water from the Colorado and La Llana rivers, approximately 15 kilometers from the center of town. The Colorado River is more turbid than the waters of the La Llana stream. This turbidity is due to suspended clay matter, partly colloidal in nature, and varies widely at different times of the year.
