Abstract
The Colombian Mining Consortium had requested the National Geological Service’s technical assistance to study the two limestone deposits in the Cartagena region. Accordingly, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum commissioned Jean Jacques Morer, Mining Engineer of the Bureau Miner de la France D'outre Mer. He was in Colombia during October, November, and December, in compliance with the technical cooperation program between the governments of France and Colombia. Dr. Morer was accompanied by geologist Eduardo Nicholls V. from the National Geological Service. The study of the calcareous deposits of the Finca de Albornoz, municipality of Cartagena, and the Plan Parejo farm, in the jurisdiction of Turbaco, were ordered by Resolution number 1298 of November 6, 1958. In compliance with this commission, we visited the sites above on November 17, 18, and 19 last year.
