Abstract
A study is carried out on the causes of erosion in the Cerro de La Popa in Cartagena. As a result, the seriousness of the problem is highlighted, and some recommendations are made to control its effects.
These recommendations can be summarized as follows: construction of works to help reduce the force of the waters that flow down the slopes of the hill; planting of grass, stubble, and trees to defend the slopes; lining of the so-called "Salto del Cabrón" with cement mortar, destruction of inappropriate vegetation and control of the action of men and animals.
