Palinología de la Formación Guaduas. Estratigráfica y sistemática

En este estudio se trata de hacer una nueva evaluación de la investigación palinológica para el intervalo Maastrichtiano superior - Paleoceno inferior correspondiente a la Formación Guaduas de la cordillera Oriental de Colombia. En el material colectado (área de Sutatausa - al norte de Bogotá) se encontró que del total de 79 tipos diferentes de palinomorfos, 33 son nuevas morfoespecies de esporas y polen. Adicionalmente se proponen 8 morfogéneros y 6 nuevas combinaciones. La dispersión de la palinoflora presentada en el diagrama permite reconocer dos zonas (I y II) y a su vez subdividir la zona II en subzonas. Estas pudieron ser correlacionados con las propuestas por otros autores en· Colombia y calibrarlas con los datos micropaleontológicos. De esta manera se amplia el panorama palinoestratigráfico del intervalo descrito en el norte de Suramérica.
